I believe in the benefits of whole foods for optimal nutrition.
As an Integrative and Functional Dietitian, I take a whole-person approach to health and wellness. I believe in the value of testing — not guessing — to figure out the foods that are best for your body if you are taking a medical nutrition therapy approach to disease treatment and wellness.
There is no magic powder, pill, or fitness regimen that will solve your problems for the long term. No supplement can ever take the place of nutritious food and a wholesome lifestyle.
We always focus on food first!
I emphasize a diet rich in real whole food, including, when tolerated, whole grains (intact whole grains and freshly milled whole grains), fresh fruits and vegetables, an abundance of spices and herbs, beneficial fats and oils, pastured meats, and cultured foods and beverages.
Food fads will come and go, but my message of whole foods for wholesome living will not change!
That being said, sometimes we do need additional vitamins, minerals, probiotics, or herbal supplements to help us in our journey to healing. If needed, I will recommend the supplements that will best to support you based upon laboratory testing and clinical evidence.
As an Integrative and Functional Dietitian, I believe that “food is medicine“. The Lord uniquely fashioned our bodies to need food… and He created food to nourish, heal, and sustain our bodies!
